Announcing the Smartfire Controller Pro 5.0

Smartfire Controller Pro 5.0 is officially announced !

We are excited to finally brief the world on the new Smartfire Controller. 3 solid years of development has gone into this new version, we’re very proud of it and am sure the broad range of innovations will excite existing and new Smartfire Owners!

Let’s talk through some of the key features, reseller pricing and next steps. 

Weatherproof

The case and enclosure has been completely redesigned. We listened to the folk who wanted it to withstand biblical rain, we listened to the folk who thought the Smartfire unit could ‘feel’ more premium. Our solution to both is a new silicone sleeve that fits like a glove over an inner plastic case. After very careful engineering and a dozen 3D printed prototypes we’ve been able to successfully relocate the air intakes to the bottom of the unit. So standing vertical heavy rain falls straight off the side, and in light rain the water will curve around the edge and then drop harmlessly off the sleeve lip that extends past the probe sockets and air intakes. Additional feature is that folk will be able to clean their silicone in the dishwasher or simply buy a replacement sleeve if they’d like to have it look like new. 

Two color combos - Flame & Ember

Flame’s silicone sleeve is Smartfire’s signature red and the inner plastic case is matt black. Ember is black silicone sleeve and the inner plastic case is matt Smartfire red.

Next Gen Wi-Fi Support

Smartfire now supports 40mhz Wi-Fi networks so no tweaks to your home Wi-Fi setup are needed! Extended range, faster, more reliable. 

Bluetooth LE 5.0

You want BT5 chipsets for higher stability, capability and throughput and the ability to connect to multiple BT devices at the same time! Easier to control your smoker(s) on the go while catering or competing while also streaming audio!

Fan Increased 1.6x

We’ve been listening to our large cabinet smoker customers, the new fan has nearly doubled in power to 8.6CFM. More power than is needed for most smokers, but who doesn’t like a little extra oomph?!

Button 

We’ve added a physical button to the Smartfire Controller. It will have basic functionality at launch, like being able to trigger a factory reset after a 10 second hold. The intent is by early next year folk will be able to assign actions to it, like being able to cancel open lid mode, enable a 3 minute turbo 100% mode, etc!

Stronger, Better, Faster

The new electronics chipset is faster and has more memory than the old system so we have a schedule of new features like home automation integration planned for 2021.
